The role of Medical Science Liaison Neurology provides an unique opportunity to broaden the experience in Neurology, be part of Neurology launch preparations, and expand or gain experience in Medical Affairs.

Generally, the Medical Science Liaison role asks for a person with a high ambition and strong social skills that can translate deep science into impactful collaborations with our customers.

Job Description

Primary Job Function

· Together with the colleagues of Neurology develop and lead the in-field launch readiness programs.

· Establishes and maintains scientific partnerships with external experts to gain insights in the unmet needs of the on-label and targeted indications.

· Proactively execute the in-field medical affairs activities and serve as the in-field scientific/medical expert for AbbVie in Neurology.

· Works closely with other Neurology team members to ensure a good flow of communication from in-field to the Neurology brand team, Medical Information and Pharmacovigilance as well as the local SM&M Team, where applicable.

Key responsibilities include:

· Build up and maintain a strong medical and scientific presence for Abbvie in key hospitals by facilitation of research and educational initiatives.

· Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with other in-field team members while retaining functional independence.

· Engage in peer to peer scientific exchange with external experts and be able to share in-depth disease/product knowledge in a non-commercial manner with external experts.

· Assist Clinical Operations colleagues in the initiation, oversight and follow up of assigned clinical studies and medical projects.

· Act as the point of contact with thought leaders to facilitate investigator initiated study (IIS) ideas and requests for support to the local and global medical teams as appropriate.

· Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to physicians, individually or in groups.

· Participate in the selection process to identify appropriately qualified thought leaders.

· Depending on product and needs, attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences.

· Upon request, assists physicians with requests for access to AbbVie medicines on early access programs, subject to all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

Basic:

· Fluent Dutch and English

· (Bio)-Medical doctorate degree required. PhD in a relevant therapeutic specialty is a pre.

· Proven track record of capability to initiate, roll out, and finish projects.

· Experience working in a cross-functional team environment (matrix).

· Proven track record of strong social skills and proactive attitude.
