  • Position Summary*

The AOG Sourcing Specialist is part of twenty-four (24) hours, seven (7) days a week Material Management team responsible for the FAA compliant procurement, management, and delivery of aircraft materials, parts, equipment, and supplies. The AOG Sourcing Specialist will process purchase orders for Aircraft and Engine parts in support of Hawaiian’s fleet requirements; including but not limited to: AOGs, DMIs, Scheduled Maintenance events, Engineering Orders, fleet services etc. The AOG Sourcing Specialist will solicit and evaluate proposals for the requested commodities and is required to negotiate pricing for goods and services to ensure purchases drive the most cost competitive value in accordance with company compliance policies and procedures. Additionally, the AOG Sourcing Specialist will train and mentor associate specialists and be open to working flexible schedules including but not limited to after hours, weekend, and/or holidays.

  • Key Responsibilities*

  • Create and manage purchase orders for Aircraft and Engine parts in support of Hawaiian’s more complex fleet requirements; including but not limited to: AOG(s), DMI(s), Scheduled Maintenance Events, Engineering Orders, etc.

  • In collaboration with maintenance and engineering, evaluate and select suppliers based on price, quality, service and customer support, availability, and reliability.

  • Ensure parts are expedited with suppliers against required critical orders to ensure AOG and Work Stoppage orders are delivered on time.

  • Monitor performance of larger suppliers to ensure order delivery dates are met, and order and invoice discrepancies are minimized. Recommend moving business to better performing suppliers.

  • Responsible to effectively manage more complex commodity categories as assigned

  • Support department to achieve annual corporate, Tech Ops, and Supply Chain priorities

  • Negotiate cost reductions based on cost and price analysis and benchmarking

  • Utilize Hawaiian Airlines ERP system, e-Commerce, and web-based order entry systems to manage order processing, and extract/analyze data

  • Prepare reports and review summary invoices for accuracy to correct discrepancies and ensure payment terms are met

  • Maintain strong supplier relationships

  • Lead process improvement projects to deliver cost savings and avoidances, improved service levels, material availability, reduced inventory, and improved efficiencies and productivity. Substantiate and track the benefits.

  • Create and maintain communication channels between various departments and Supply Chain teams to maintain a continuous flow of materials to support the customer.

  • Mentor and train entry level teammates

  • Minimum Requirements*

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field with 3-5 years technical purchasing experience or an equivalent combination of education and related working experience

  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and meticulous attention to detail

  • Strong process analysis and continuous improvement skills.

  • Self-directing, and ability to meet deadlines in dynamic, fast paced environment.

  • Strong sense of financial responsibility.

  • Ability to perform in an operational environment.

  • High ethical standards and the ability to handle multiple time sensitive tasks, projects, and priorities at the same time.

  • Training experience

  • Experience leading and managing projects

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally to support activities related to aircraft maintenance support and resolving supplier issues.

  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including but not limited to after hours, weekend and or holidays

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business/ERP/MRP systems

  • Capability to understand technical documents, work with cross-functional teams and make recommendations based on data and analysis

/ Please note that the provided salary information serves as a general guideline. Our salary is determined by a candidate's experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations. The expected pay range is $65,600 - $86,100./

  • Preferred Qualifications*

  • Previous Airline and or MRO procurement, planning, and materials management experience

  • Knowledge of accounting, finance, and AP/AR functions

  • Knowledge of Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Materials management processes.

  • Green Belt – Lean or Six Sigma certification

  • Proven change agent to work in highly complex and stressful environments

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Self-directing, and able to meet deadlines in an environment of constantly changing priorities and data

  • Knowledge of procurement of goods and services and working with suppliers/vendors
