Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. Straub ophthalmologists, assisted by optometrists and certified ophthalmic technicians, provide a full range of eye care services for children and adults. These professionals are trained in the most up-to-date surgical procedures for treatment of cataracts, corneal disease, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, retinal disease and orbital disease. Straub offers total eye care complete with one-stop-shopping optical shops, including a full selection of glasses frames, lenses and contact lenses.

If you are highly organized and have a talent for coordinating multiple areas in a single department, you could be the ideal candidate for our Lead Patient Service Representative position. In this role, you will coordinate work activities and staffing in our Ophthalmology department, including training and maintaining of master schedules; processing of professional/technical fees generated by department providers; interviewing, registering, admitting, updating and creating patients’ medical records; and acting as a liaison between patients and the professional staff by facilitating clerical and reception responsibilities and assisting in administrative tasks. Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Two (2) years clerical support experience in a health care setting including medical insurance and collection experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree in business administration and/or related field. International Classification of Diseases 9th edition (ICD-9)and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT).

Medical terminology experience. MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) experience.
