Queen's Health System Coordinator ,Corporate Communications (Full Time, 40, DAY) in Honolulu, Hawaii
RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Under direction of manager, plans, coordinates, and implements projects, programs and events related to community relations and corporate communications.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with the media and public.
• Develops, coordinates, and implements communication strategies and procedures as directed.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: standing, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Occasional: stooping/ bending, kneeling, twisting body, walking on uneven ground, climbing stairs, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions, static and frequent gripping of an object for prolonged periods
• Operates computer, typewriter, facsimile machine, copier.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Must be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to media calls as needed.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, public relations, communications, marketing or related field; or four (4) years progressively responsible experience in health care communications or other health care related field may substitute for educational requirement.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• In addition to education requirement, minimum two (2) years in public relations, preferably in the health care industry.
• Prior experience in dealing with news media required.
