Accounting Assistant REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient computer skills including MS Excel
- Organized, detail oriented, flexible, dependable
- Accurate typing 45 wpm, 10 key accuracy
- Excellent customer and client servicing skills
- Ability to work well independently and as a team player
- Ability to work in high security environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Billing, invoicing, distribution of invoice(s) and closing of claims in the system
- Send monthly billing statements to selected clients.
- Accounts receivable: Process, prepare for deposit and reconcile cash receipts entered in claims system.
- Send reminder email/notice for past due invoices.
- Print, scan, collate, copy, upload claim checks to claims system.
- Follow special handling check instruction per clients requirement
- Maintain adequate check supply for various accounts and secure all checks as instructed by client and/or procedures
- Prepare monthly production, financial, metrics and file statistics reports for managers, supervisors and clients.
BACKUP DUTIES:
- Issue stop payments, reimbursements, voids, deposits and replenish trust accounts as needed
- Vendor maintenance in claims system
- Serve as back up to Audit/Quality Control Specialist and Accounting Specialist.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and staff on various issues
