GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Power Delivery Solutions Leader to provide additional oversight and development for the Business. This position will function within the Power Delivery Engineering Business Sector and report to the Business Sector Leader. The ideal candidate will possess a firm understanding of Transmission, Substation, and/or Distribution markets, the ability to manage projects and technical staff across disciplines and have the capacity to generate work for the Business across regions preferably within new markets or territories. Responsibilities Include: Develop GAI's Power Delivery Engineering business by initiating new client relationships and going deeper within existing clients in the Transmission, Substation, and Distribution energy sectors. Sales and marketing will revolve around generating work for staff with Transmission, Substation, Distribution, and Structural experience. Meet profitability and productivity goals for the Business Sector by following chargeable ratio targets within corporate guidelines, managing overhead budgets, and meeting the Business Sector's chargeable ratio. Assist in developing annual business plan for the Business Sector including gathering information from direct reports, and monitoring and reporting progress quarterly Actively supports corporate mission, goals, strategies, tactics, code of conduct, policies, and procedures. Promote effective communication and collaboration of all types and at all levels within the organization. Must effectively communicate with corporate management to resolve issues and problems and to share personnel, workloads, marketing leads, and ideas. Work closely with other Business Sector Leaders, Operations, and Corporate Services to support the delivery of profitable, safe, and sustainable projects and services for our clients. Participate in creating and administering company policies and developing long-range goals and objectives. Managing and growing a team to support new business. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance. While working in the field conducting inspections, the employee will be exposed to the outdoor environment, including weather fluctuations. This position requires the successful candidate to perform field visits to client sites to obtain photos, and physical measurements, and view site conditions. Employees will walk over uneven terrain and over long distances at times. The employee is also required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment including a hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Qualifications: Ten (10) + years of experience managing technical staff and performing duties such as hiring, budgeting, employee performance, and compensation reviews, creating a strategic plan with group and department goals, etc. Twenty (20) + years of experience in the generation, T&D, power industry. Must demonstrate business acumen and have a clear understanding of financial statements as they apply to the business. Demonstrates previous sales experience in acquiring new clients. emonstrates experience fostering existing client relationships. The position will require the addition of one new client and $500,000 in revenue in the first 12 months. Client development will advance in years 2 and 3 as the business continues to expand. Experience in developing and maintaining existing long-term client relationships. Must possess demonstrated success in group and project management, staff growth and development, client development, and directing the concurrent execution of multiple complex projects. Advocates for ethical behavior in the practice of engineering and assesses courses of resolution to ethical dilemmas in complicated situations. Experience 20+ years of experience. Education B.S. or M.S. Engineering, Master's Degree or Equivalent Experience Preferred Certification/Licensure Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, reciprocity in multiple states. Driver's License Technical Responsibilities Frequently performs advisory or consulting work for the practice across broad project areas or within a specialized area with innovative/complex aspects. Assesses practices and requirements to achieve sustainable performance of complex engineering projects from a systems perspective. Project and Task Management Evaluates project management plans for complex engineering projects. Develops risk mitigation plans to address project risks. Evaluates effectiveness of leaders and teams. Management, Supervision and Guidance Leads an entire project of critical importance. Develops projects needed for accomplishing the objectives of the practice. Develops practice strategy for staff development through mentored experience, continuing education, and self-development. Instills and fosters professional attitudes within the practice. Communication Negotiates critical and controversial issues with leadership of other practices. Represents their practice at important functions and conferences.
