GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Engineer 2 with experience in water/wastewater engineering to join our talented and energetic team in either our Homestead, Cranberry, or Southpointe, PA office. An ideal candidate has planning, design, permitting, and construction experience in the water/ wastewater market for municipal and/or industrial clients. This position is an excellent opportunity to grow technical and project management knowledge, skills, and abilities for today's water and infrastructure focused environment. This position can be hybrid and the successful candidate will be eligible for a sign-on bonus. Job Duties: Assist in water/wastewater process and pipeline design projects for municipal and industrial clients. Work on multi-discipline teams to complete water and wastewater planning, evaluation, design, and construction projects related to collection, conveyance, and distribution systems, pump stations, storage and treatment facilities, and asset upgrade/rehabilitation. Assist with Civil/Process Engineering design projects including schematic/preliminary design, design development, final design, specifications, permitting, bid-phase services, and construction contract document production. Participates in technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications, and technical plans. Field work may include water sampling, site inspection, and construction administration support including completing field observation reports. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, including written, oral, and good interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work and interface well in a collaborative and detail-oriented project team environment. Ensures that work products meet client, environmental, and safety requirements. Possesses strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and analysis modules. Performs moderate to complex water/wastewater/civil design tasks while delegating more routine tasks to staff with less experience. Mentor, guide and check the work of less experienced staff. Strong team collaboration, oral and written communication, design expertise, and problem-solving skills are required. Adhere to safety and quality procedures of GAI and our clients. Travel to other offices/meet with clients/attend project-specific meetings. General Characteristics Applies broad knowledge of principles and practices in a specific practice area. Acquires general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields, and ability to function on multidisciplinary teams. Applies leadership and teamwork skills to effectively plan, execute, and manage scopes, schedules, and budgets to meet project stakeholder needs. Minimum Years of Experience 6+ Education B.S. or M.S. Environmental / Civil Engineering or related field Certification/Licensure Professional Engineer (P.E.) License Technical Responsibilities Designs a complete project, system, component, or process. Prepares complete plans, specifications, and other project documents. Designs and conducts analyses and interprets test data. Begins to develop and reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance. Project and Task Management Assigns tasks to other technical and non-technical staff. Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work. Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments. Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or projects. Management Responsibility Receives general direction on key objectives. Receives guidance on unconventional/complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria. Mentors junior staff by providing guidance, explaining professional responsibilities, and reviewing work products. Atte ds project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments. Qualifications

Education Bachelors of Civil Engineering (preferred) Bachelors of Environmental Engineering (required)

Experience 6 years: Designs a complete project, system, component, or process. Prepares complete plans, specifications, and other project documents. Designs and conducts analyses and interprets test data. Begins to develop and reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance. (required)

Licenses & Certifications Driver's License (required) Professional Engineer (preferred)
