Job Description Summary
He/she will be responsible to support the development and costing during the commercial phase of project execution activities for GE Offshore Wind in Poland, with a specific focus on Port Operations.
He/she will demonstrate an excellent communication with plan ahead mindset and knowledge of logistics industry and port operations.
He/she is part of the Project Management Office (PMO) – Marshalling Harbour department (direct report) and will support other activities as required by the ITO PMO Manager.
The Marshalling Harbor department operates within the Project Management Office, in parallel with activities of Installation, Transport, Commissioning, Planning and Risk Management. Missions of the Marshalling Harbour are to receive and collect the Wind Turbine Generator (“WTG”) components from the factories, to handle and store them, to carry out the necessary preservation, pre-commissioning and pre-assembly, and to prepare WTG components at quayside for the load-out on-board the Wind Installation Vessel.
Develop workable logistics strategies for the Marshalling Harbour that include forecasting, market and infrastructure analysis and ensure proposed strategies are accurate, technically adapted and competitive.
Collaborate with Commercial and Sales teams to schedule, perform and maintain port audits.
Provide timely and competitive Marshalling Harbor logistics and pre-assembly quotes, updated throughout global commercial bid lifecycle.
Identify project specific risks analysis and mitigation plans in collaboration with Risk Manager and Commercial coordinators.
Develop, maintain and interact with a network of logistics service providers, port authorities’, development agencies and other public authorities in target countries, with specific focus to Poland, to optimize costing and technical solutions for the project.
Support the development of local strategic Costing and Sourcing initiatives for the whole PMO department.
Influence contract terms and conditions, resulting in optimized logistics solutions minimizing overall execution risk hence preventing downstream margin erosion.
Collaborate with all other PMO functions to enhance relationships, share best practices and drive common execution improvements.
Maintain the monitoring tool for the activity and performance of the department's commercial offers.
Participate in reviews aimed at reducing project execution costs and risks for the department's activity.
Undertake other activities as required by the PMO department.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
Fluent English and Polish; French (as optional)
Significant experience with managing logistics for large global projects and a commanding knowledge of Port operations and Craneage.
Strong network within the Offshore Wind Business stakeholders in Poland.
Superior analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to synthesize large quantities of data into key messages.
Proven experience working with diverse teams.
Plan ahead and risk mitigation mindset.
Ability to coordinate and lead in a global matrix environment.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to communicate at all levels.
Working knowledge of commercial contracts.
Working knowledge of site mobilization and constructability.
Proven competency and expertise in evaluating competitive logistics quotes.
