RSDC of Michigan Human Resource Generalist in Holt, Michigan

Primary Job Function:

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resources Department including hiring and interviewing, administering pay, benefits, leave programs, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; training; recognition, and morale.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Facilitates benefit orientations for new RSDC associates.
  • Oversees and ensures compliance in employment and regulatory requirements including but not limited to: USCIS Form I-9, FMLA, COBRA, EEOC, etc.
  • Coordinates with hiring supervisors to identify staffing needs, writes, and posts job advertisements.
  • Monitors all workers compensation case files; follows-up on open cases, tracks claim status and acts as primary point of contact for employees, managers, and insurance representatives.
  • Works with the union on the grievance procedures and participates in grievance meetings with union members.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Processes payroll.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Risks Associated with Job Function/Working Conditions:

  • Office and manufacturing environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

This is an At Will position.

Job Type: Full-time

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.

Experience:

  • At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.
  • Union experience preferred.
