Guardian Life Senior Software Delivery Engineer in Holmdel, New Jersey

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will help create and maintain CICD pipelines and software delivery architectures, automated processes and solutions.

You will work on deploying and managing applications on AWS and other cloud platforms, using various software frameworks such as Java, Node.js, Angular, React, and .NET. This position requires technical knowledge on AWS and software development concepts and will work independently with application development teams, business leaders, data and technical management to develop both architecture framework, and deliver solutions across multiple business units leveraging the use of container/microservice architecture and related platform.

You Will:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize centralized CI/CD pipelines.

  • Assist in designing, maintaining and implementing software delivery architectures & frameworks

  • Work on various cloud services, primarily AWS, to deploy and manage applications at scale.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to troubleshoot deployment issues and assist in resolving outages.

  • Write and maintain code in languages such as Java, Python, Groovy, and Go.

  • Work on learning, testing and implementing new innovative Technology to help shape Guardian’s future.

  • Help design, write and improve automation scripts, software and processes

  • Transform ideas into real, working models.

  • Continuously learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.

You Have:

  • Sound knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Patterns and Concepts

  • Secure UI development best practices, e.g. OWASP

  • Proficiency in coding languages such as Java, Python, Groovy, and/or Go.

  • Experience with Shell and bash scripting.

  • Experience with CI/CD and GIT, Jenkins or similar

  • Experience with REST APIs and REST API best practices

  • Experience in debugging technical issues by looking at application logs along with in-depth debugging skills on different browsers

  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.

  • Experience with JSON and YAML modeling.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong Linux Operating system knowledge

  • Understanding of top software development concepts.

  • Strong understanding of container security concepts.

Location

  • Two days a week at Guardian Location in Holmdel, NJ or Bethlehem, Pa and three days a week remote.

Salary Range

$91,260.00 - $149,925.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
