FUJIFILM Supply Chain Buyer/ Planner in Holly Springs, North Carolina

We are growing our locations and are investing more than $2 billion into establishing a new large-scale manufacturing site for biopharmaceuticals in the United States to accelerate the growth of our Bio CDMO (Contract and Development Manufacturing Organization) business. This will be the largest end-to-end cell culture CDMO provider in North America. The new site will offer end-to-end solutions to our customers looking to manufacture biopharmaceuticals in the US. In addition to drug substance manufacture, it will also provide automated fill-finish and assembly, packaging, and labeling services. The new state-of-the-art facility is located in Holly Springs, North Carolina, United States.

The Supply Chain Buyer/Planner role will be supporting the operations of GMP Purchasing and Supply Chain Planning at our Holly Springs site to ensure that the right materials are available at the right time, in the correct quantity to support GMP production. This role will support the materials planning process and direct purchasing while liaising with both internal and external stakeholders on the status of material readiness. The full life cycle of material management will also include the running of the ERP SAP system using MRP. Within SAP, Bill of Material creation, planned demand and conversion to process orders (WIP) will be the 2 responsibility of the Supply Chain teams. The Supply Chain Buyer/Planner will support these processes and supply chain teams on a longer strategic planning horizon. This role will be responsible for supporting the planning team and orchestrating associated task to start up the Holly Springs facility while transitioning into commercial operations. The Supply Chain Buyer/Planner is expected to collaborate closely with all stakeholders across the Fujifilm sites and supply chain teams to setup accurate master data for both material and production planning in the SAP ERP system.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee process activities for the material purchasing and production planning including responsibilities for inventory, suppliers, execution of material MRP planning, and managing production schedule.

  • Establishes controls to ensure the business is operating at the highest level of performance and minimized supply chain risk.

  • Ensure the planning and purchasing teams works closely and effectively to support production plan demands.

  • Maintain adequate levels of material in support of the manufacturing organization while adhering to corporate inventory objectives

  • Coordinate and integrate the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and customers, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness, and capabilities of the supply chain.

  • Manage process of creating process orders in SAP per the production schedule. Monitor/drive KPIs on orders for these to be opened, processed, and closed per schedule adherence targets.

  • Work closely with master data team to ensure/develop material builds and Bills of Materials are accurate in the ERP system for production processes and material consumption in SAP.

  • Monitor overall inventory management for assigned process and develop necessary actions to reduce slow moving and obsolete inventory. Additionally, monitor review/analyze Demand and Supply changes and trends for supplier lead times.

  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to procurement.

  • Develop and continuously improve supplier relationship and programs.

  • Oversee the weekly reporting functions for material status and ensure correct allocation of materials to support the production schedule for all manufacturing areas.

  • Work with Finance, Process Science, Production, Quality Control, Warehouse and Quality Assurance to provide support in production needs, batch readiness, batch closure and compliance.

  • Participate in existing and new project planning processes to assure timely acquisition of materials and production BoMs to support project runs for new clients and new processes introduced as required.

  • Collect, analyze, and review data/KPI’s for material readiness per project, material consumption on a per batch basis, material utilization for all projects.

  • Work with clients to support their material planning and reconciliation processes.

  • Ensure material availability by coordinating delivery and release with the purchasing, warehousing, QA/CQ, and Vendor departments while helping to resolve any problems associated with availability

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or similar such as B.S. in Science, Business, or Engineering plus overall +5 years in Pharmaceutical Industry. Preferred experience in Supply Chain, Production, Materials management, Manufacturing, and/or Planning.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written for discussing complex business processes.

  • Positive, customer service-oriented skills and behavior

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to problem-solving in a logical and analytical manner.

  • Ability to coordinate, facilitate, and work effectively to meet aggressive deadlines.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage time, problem solve, and work as part of a team.

  • Must be a proactive change agent and possess leadership skills to build and maintain a team-oriented environment.

  • Experience and a solid understanding of ERP systems in a manufacturing environment; advanced capability in balancing procurement and inventory management/MRP within the ERP system settings, preferably with SAP.

  • Experience and knowledge of developing and implementing purchasing strategies.

  • Advanced computer skills in applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to develop and maintain business and technical documentation, preferably with cGMP background.

  • APICS training or certifications is a plus. CPIM (Certified in Production & Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).

  • Six Sigma training, experience, and/or certification(s)
