Rachel Wixey & Associates proudly services Springfield Local Schools for their long-term substitute classified employees. We are currently recruiting for a long-term classroom assistant. Previous work experience with school aged children is preferred.
Qualifications
- Clean criminal background.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Three (3) positive professional references.
- Experience working with school aged children.
After Hire (Contingent)
- Able to obtain an Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide Permit ($25), or higher license, with an ESEA Endorsement
FBI & BCI Background checks dated within 12 months (Cost varies per agency)
Responsibilities
- Presents subject matter to students under the direction and guidance of the teacher.
- Ensures that students are never left unattended in the classroom.
- Keeps students safe and engaged.
- Exhibits proper classroom management techniques.
- Understands building and classroom policy and procedures.
- Documents lesson plans.
- Maintains student records/performance.
- Follows the Individualized Education Program (IEP) of the student.

- Days: Monday - Friday, following the school calendar
- Duration: date of hire - end of the school year
- Various grade level positions available (preschool, elementary, high school)
- Enrollment in School Employees Retirement System (SERS)
