Adient US LLC Manufacturing Engineer in Holland, Michigan
SUMMARY:
Manufacturing Engineer will use engineering principles to design, procure, install and validate manufacturing processes. Analyzes and plans for labor utilization, equipment requirements, workflow, manufacturing space requirements and layout for maximum efficiency.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Study individual and group jobs to determine the most efficient method of performing the jobs.
Recommend rearrangements of workstations, production lines, and modifications in equipment and materials to improve plant performance.
Design measured work systems to determine and control assigned manpower and labor costs by doing the following:
Measure and analyze the specific tasks to be performed
Establish performance standards based on current data
Review and audit performance standards periodically
Monitor Controls Systems for operability, develop and implement reaction plans for various system failures
Development of manufacturing processes by completing detailed engineering analysis of:
Design for assembly
Logistics and contingency planning
Process flow
Process labor planning & line balance
Material flow planning
Plant layout
Facilities requirement definition
Build manifest definition
Shop floor controls systems
Ergonomic analysis
Workstation planning
Andon/Plant visual management
Process failure mode and effect analysis
Determine the most efficient combination of material, process and machine to produce parts.
Recommends changes to the manufacturing processes methods and procedures to upgrade quality and quantity of products and/or line operating efficiencies.
Coordinates activities with Production, Production Control, Maintenance and Industrial Engineering to meet Company objectives of lowest cost, highest quality products.
Validation of manufacturing process to meet labor targets, production output and quality standards
Actively participates in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and the 8D process in order to develop root cause analysis for problem resolution as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with APQP, Work Instructions, PFMEA, and control plans desired
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
