GENERAL PURPOSE An Operations Technician is part of our pay for skills program and allows individuals to continue to build skills providing opportunity to increase their compensation. Individuals at Level 1 have accumulated 0-2 skill blocks. As an entry level Operations Technician, you will assemble products and/or related parts in a manufacturing setting at a standard rate of work based on customer demand and lean manufacturing principles to satisfy the customer and to provide high quality products delivered in a timely manner. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Cross-training in other departments to learn additional functions is required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Gain up to 2 skill blocks according to the skill library. Attaches appropriate label and tags to product and packages. Reads, understands, communicates, and interprets written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies and practices, etc., which are written in the English language. Works overtime as needed. Completes required paperwork correctly to ensure record accuracy. Maintains a clean, safe working environment according to 5s and department safety guidelines. Participates in HMPS improvement activities within current department or other departments as appropriate. Performs a minimum of 75% of the jobs in the department at the required rate (cycle time). Rotates through the department work stations based on business need. Checks equipment and product as needed, reports problems or issues regarding safety or quality to department supervisor. Regular and predictable attendance based on scheduled hours. Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency

Skills and Abilities Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting. Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals. Demonstrated willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment. Required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms for the duration of the shift. Ability to regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift and move up to 25 lbs, and occasionally lift and move up to 40 lbs. Required to communicate and to be able to see with or without correction.
