We are seeking a skilled and experienced Drill Press Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating drill presses to drill, ream, tap, workpieces according to specifications. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this role.

salary: $20 - $21 per hour

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM

education: High School

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate drill presses to perform drilling, reaming, tapping, and countersinking operations on metal workpieces.

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine drilling specifications.

• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workpiece holding devices.

• Adjust machine controls to regulate speed, feed, and depth of cut.

• Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as necessary to ensure proper drilling and machining of workpieces.

• Inspect workpieces to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

• Perform routine maintenance on drill presses, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts.

• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.

The essential functions of this role include:
