This position reports to Application Development Manager and is responsible for leading and contributing to product development activities, and interfacing with product ownership team in Japan.

Responsibilities

What You Will Get To Do

The Sr. Software Developer will lead and contribute to the entire development lifecycle of a Windows based software product that supports Panasonic electronics assembly equipment, including analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation and product support. The position will be a key interface for all stakeholders of the end product, including the primary product ownership team in Japan, offshore development and testing resources, and various support teams in US and internationally.

Accountability:

  • Implement all aspects of an application design – high performance design, coding, caching mechanisms, security, encryption, state management, error logging, debugging, scalability, code reviews, development environment configuration, and testing.

  • Learn the architecture of the platform and assure it is maintained as enhancements and new features are added to the system.

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code.

  • Provide leadership and coordination of activities for the development team, including daily sprint meetings

  • Plan and lead meetings with product ownership team in Japan. Manage requirements and deliverables schedule for each product release

  • Analyze, design, develop, test, and deliver enhancements and new features for the product

  • Perform design and code reviews as a SME on the work of other team members

  • Work with QA and CS teams to investigate internally and customer reported product issues

Qualifications

What You Will Bring

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience designing, developing, debugging and delivering Windows based client/server application software.

  • Proven understanding of the product development life cycle and business operations.

  • Extensive experience working in Windows development environment and with related tools

  • Strong knowledge of MS Teams, Bitbucket, JIRA, and related project management tools.

  • Prior experience working on enterprise systems and solutions used in manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.

Key Competencies:

  • Proficient in C# and .NET framework and strong understanding of object-oriented programming

  • Proficient in writing reusable C# libraries

  • Familiar with various design and architectural patterns

  • Knowledge of concurrency patterns in C#

  • Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server for database implementations and performance tuning for large datasets

  • Familiarity with Windows Presentation Framework (WPF)

  • Understand fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

  • Familiarity with implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests

  • Experience with C++ programming code debugging would be a plus

Other Requirements:

  • Travel domestically and internationally when required (up to 25%)

The salary range below is just one component of Panasonic Connect's total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
