VF Corporation Senior Manager, GMS, Trims & Packaging in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Role & Responsibilities:

As part of the Global Materials Supply (GMS) Team , The Snr Materials Manager Trims & packaging will lead the GMS team that services all FTW, Apparel & Equipment Brands and all trims and packaging products sourced through the Asian Sourcing Office. In addition, the role will support and coordinate with VF’s regional sourcing offices in Panama and Europe to ensure consistency and quality of trims and packaging globally.

This individual is responsible for creating a coherent and coordinated sourcing strategy for all trims and packaging materials. Managing an efficient material supply model that ensures quality, cost and timely delivery of all raw materials, trims and components.

Leading a team of approximately 12 associates this individual is responsible for building and developing a diverse and empowered team that maximizes value for VF and our brands using data analytics , application of procurement and growth mindsets , leverage and scale through the implementation of an “One VF” approach.

The role encompasses extensive scope to operationally connect with Brands, Product Supply, Suppliers, Finance, and Responsible Sourcing & Sustainability organizations. Frequent influential communication to VP and Director level is required. This leader is viewed as a key thought partner to bring an innovative and creative solutions culture to the team as they resolve complex material supply issues.

Key Result Areas:

  • Build the trims & packaging material supply strategy for all brands factoring in footprint movements, supply models, lead times, profitability, sustainable materials, brand and sourcing needs

  • Ensure reliable on-time delivery of materials for production by supporting the team as they work closely with material suppliers and finished goods vendors

  • Partner cross-functionally with VF Materials Labs, Sourcing and Quality Leaders in managing all aspects of material quality from establishing guidelines to delivering product to factories

  • Support Product Supply & Quality teams by coordinating and leading supplier discussions during resolution of quality issues between suppliers and vendors.

  • Act as the key liaison for Product Development leadership across all the brands and sourcing leadership for all material supply related topics

  • Support material innovation and capabilities through supplier research and partnership in collaboration with Brand Development and Innovation Teams

  • Increase leverage of the “One VF” model through decisions supported by facts and data that will in turn support the material supply strategy

  • Lead material cost negotiation tactics by establishing cost targets, utilizing fact-based methodology, and driving for positive outcomes in supplier facing discussions

  • Establish annual material cost savings targets, drive initiatives, track progress, and report savings with close collaboration with Finance Teams

  • Report and monitor supplier performance using set scorecards for active performance management. Supporting implementation of Supplier Performance Management tools across all trims and packaging suppliers .

  • Responsible for managing and owning tier 2 supplier relationship and building collaborative supplier partnerships in support of VF brands objectives

  • Collaborate with suppliers to create and build innovative solutions that improve manufacturing efficiency, supply agility and lead-time reduction.

  • Partner with functional leaders on all areas of Compliance and Social Responsibility , to ensure VF standards and requirements are met within the group’s material supply

  • Actively support sustainable material roadmaps through identification of supplier capabilities, capacities and innovative sustainable alternatives

  • Work cross-functionally in selection of regional and local suppliers and materials in support of manufacturing strategies and Product Development objectives.

  • Accountable for associate development focused on building a diverse and empowered team through the application of a growth mindset . Leveraging available resources & VF’s support infrastructure to build confident, decisive associates with communication skills, capabilities and a desire to grow.

Experience

  • Minimum Relevant Experience: Experience in Apparel, Footwear, Equipment and/or Sourcing and Supply Chain organizations

  • Minimum Supervisory Experience: Proven record of leading teams

  • Nature of Work: Materials Sourcing, Finished Goods Manufacturing (Sporting & Lifestyle APP, FTW or EQP)
