We take pride in producing top-quality apples and Christmas trees, fostering a sustainable farming environment, and building community connections. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Orchard Manager who is passionate about hands-on farming and can contribute to our legacy of excellence. Job Description: As our Orchard Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of our apple and Christmas tree farm. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role that requires comprehensive knowledge of orchard management and the ability to perform heavy lifting and strenuous tasks. You will oversee the health and productivity of our trees, manage farm staff, and work directly in the fields to maintain the highest quality standards. Responsibilities: • Oversee and execute all aspects of orchard operations, including planting, pruning, harvesting, and tree health management for apples and Christmas trees. • Perform heavy lifting and physical labor, such as moving tree limbs, setting up equipment, and assisting with tree transport. • Manage pest control and implement sustainable farming practices. • Operate farm machinery and ensure equipment maintenance. • Supervise and train seasonal staff, fostering a productive and safe work environment. • Monitor and maintain irrigation systems and soil health. • Collaborate with the family owners to plan and execute strategic growth initiatives. Requirements: • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on orchard management or relevant farming experience. • Demonstrated ability to perform heavy physical labor, lift 50+ pounds regularly, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. • Proficiency with farm equipment and machinery operation. • Strong leadership and communication skills. • A passion for sustainable and responsible farming practices. • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications: • Knowledge of pest and disease control for apple and evergreen trees. • Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance. • Experience with seasonal staff management.
