Position summary:

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Sr. Staff Program Manager to lead programs developing and commercializing solutions and products for the semiconductor industry. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead all aspects of high complexity program management responsibilities across R&D, Operations and Sourcing, Service and Product Management. You will work with a range of wafer dual beam products, hardware and software technologies, and various workflows related to manufacturing advanced semiconductor devices.

As the Sr. Staff Program Manager, you will ensure that our teams follow product development and program management standard methodologies. You will drive overall project execution, enforce specific regulatory requirements, ensure design control standards are met, and ensure program budget adherence. Key Objectives:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to successfully plan and carry out one or more programs/projects. Lead teams with a passion to win!

  • Own the definition, development, and delivery of capital equipment hardware/software product/solutions for semiconductor fabs.

  • Conduct detailed schedule analysis of critical paths to identify key technical and schedule risks, and proactively establish mitigation activities or corrective actions.

  • Establish a common understanding among team members on why and how the program introduces differentiated solutions.

  • Lead project budget, supervise actual versus plan, and resolve issues as they arise.

  • Interact with peers, functional groups, and customers, ad build and present reports for project status updates to the business unit and division leadership team levels.

  • Partner with Product Marketing and management to develop long-term strategic plans.

  • Collect and analyze program data to highlight resource imbalances across the portfolio.

  • Serve as the program leader and program "general manager," building teams to accomplish project objectives.

  • Lead and/or participate in other cross-functional projects. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of demonstrated success in leading development programs from concept through commercialization.

  • A strong educational background in Physics, Engineering, or a related field is required. Equivalent experience will also be considered.

  • Experience developing complex semiconductor capital equipment, including software features and capabilities. Semiconductor fab experience or metrology equipment experience strongly desired.

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Solid ability to respond promptly and prioritize customer requests.

  • Proven success in fostering agreement among important parties and finding solutions to conflicting needs.

  • Experience implementing Critical Chain methodology and Agile/Scaled Agile methods in development projects, using standard program management tools and software.

  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proven track record of leading, coaching, and developing others.

  • Outstanding organizational, planning, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience working and communicating effectively with all levels of management.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate across multiple cultures.

  • Ability to work in a matrix reporting environment.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, both domestically and internationally.

  • PMP certification is highly preferred.
