Our Electron Microscopy business enables customers to find meaningful answers to questions that accelerate breakthrough discoveries, increase efficiency, and ultimately change the world. The EM business designs, manufactures, and supports the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflows that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales.

How will you make an impact

You will be responsible for directing day-to-day tasks of a team of application scientists who deliver pre and post sales applications training in the Americas region. The team is based in Hillsboro, Oregon.

What will you do?

Lead all aspects of the NanoPort Materials Science SEM team daily operations, as well as providing career development opportunities for the team.

Motivate and challenge the team, bring the best balance between business efficiency and scientific credibility while stimulating constructive and cooperative working relationships; build a team spirit.

Ensure flawless performance of the NanoPort SEM systems.

Build and stimulate pro-active and result-driven interactions with the NanoPort’s business partners, for example sales, product marketing, R&D, manufacturing, and customer service.

Coach the team on the content of their work; besides demonstrations and customer training, this also includes such tasks as: applications support for new product development, contributions to training manuals and release notes, experimental research to advance applications knowledge, presentations at workshops and conferences.

How You Will Get Here

The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:

Requires a university degree in Materials Science, Chemistry and or Physics. An advanced degree is preferred.

5 or more years of experience in a relevant position within a Materials Science research or failure analysis environment with recent experience utilizing corrected S EM technology.

Strong attention to detail, critical eye for quality and pursuing continuous improvement.

Proven ability to prioritize, direct multiple projects simultaneously and work to meet tight deadlines.

Excellent customer-facing skills and affinity with a value-based selling approach.

Strong team player.

Skilled collaborator with outstanding communication abilities, both written and verbal, to actively engage a wide range of individuals.

Ability to interact with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 50%) and possess a valid passport.
