Field Administrator

The NCCO (New Construction Contractor Orientation) department supports the project team by orientating all new contractors working on-site and will also be responsible for general administrative duties, including maintaining accurate and complete records of project documents. The position works under direct supervision and performs routine daily interactive and administrative activities. This position must demonstrate strong communication and client service skills as well as strong organizational and time management skills.

Major Responsibilities

  • Assist in client reporting deliverables

  • Cultivate effective relationships with clients, designers, consultants, contractors and internal Skanska client

  • Will be representing Skanska by interacting with the customer on a daily basis

  • Perform general administrative duties such as typing, copying and filing

  • Coordinate office communications, answering phone, email correspondence and Outlook calendar

  • Inventory and ordering of office supplies

  • Operation and maintenance of office and office equipment

Job Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to grasp principles and concepts

  • Ability to adjust to rapidly shifting demands

  • Must be able to interface with customer in a broad range of circumstances

  • Working under tight deadlines

  • Requires self-motivation, high level of discipline and perform without supervision

  • Must feel comfortable effectively working both independently and as a team

  • Ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment with many shifting demands

  • Must be prepared to train for a full day

  • Office responsibilities

  • An understanding of the construction industry is a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Basic math skills

  • Dependability

  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times

  • Ability to understand and follow directions

  • Good time management and organizational skills

  • Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment and Skanska Safety and Health Management Program

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma required

  • Junior College or Vocational education desired

  • Previous training and administrative experience
