We are a well established and renown commercial landscape construction company looking for a motivated individual to join our talented, long-tenured team as one of seven key managers running the company.

The ideal candidate is energetic, has strong people skills, has solid technical skills, and is a quick learner. You will work closely with Division and Corporate leaders in our company and will participate in decision making at the highest level.

You will be the primary leader and manager of all Sales, Estimating, Contract Negotiation, Project Management, Purchasing and Administrative Support functions in the division.

You will report to the COO/VP of Operations. Regular travel within the Oregon market (mostly the Portland metro area) will be expected. You will work out of our Corporate office in Hillsboro, OR, but will spend considerable time in the field.

The ideal candidate will have experience in operations and strong communication skills. The Construction Division Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, which includes everything from managing and internal staff of Project Managers, contract negotiations , project management and safety. Reporting on sales and monitoring employees' performance.

Pay to commensurate with experience

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all Oregon construction projects in an efficient, profitable and timely manner. Work closely with Project Managers to track ongoing costs and variances to our bids. Review and project costs to complete with COO on a monthly basis.

  • Manage & train Estimating staff through the budgeting and bid preparation process. Interpret plans, specs and construction documents generated by Architects, General Contractors and Vendors to produce bids that closely resemble our actual costs. Build and maintain production rates, cost expectations and other market specific nuances for our industry and company. Continually learn from and adjust estimates based on recently completed work.

  • Manage Business Development staff to build and maintain a growing backlog of future work at good margins, produced at the right time to maintain continuity of operations. Review and Approve final bids going out and work with Business Development staff to close deals.

  • Oversee the process to review and approve plans and specs, RFI’s and requests for additional information to determine changes and cost impacts, manage project budgets, vendor pricing/quotes, and tracking correspondence, etc.

  • Exhibit computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and Timberline/Sage 300 for Construction and Real estate software. We also utilize ProCore and Sales Force.

  • Manage Contract Administration and Support teams in all aspects of project development, purchasing, billings and job close outs. Provide leadership to both direct and indirect reports. Review subcontracts and change orders to ensure they are executed in a timely fashion.

  • Manage, motivate, and direct a sales team.

  • Work in an office setting.

  • Expect to travel 30–50% of the time.
