Job Title: Field Technician

Job Description

A broad range of professional, engineering, and technical services to the telecommunications and power delivery markets. We have a current opening for a Utility Technician. We support our customers and stakeholders and constantly strive to exceed expectations with all of our services, which include: Communications Design Services, Energy Distribution Services, Utility Pole Inspection, and Environmental Services.

Responsibilities:

• Collect field data utilizing tripod-mounted GPS unit (EOS Arrow Gold), laser range finder (TruPulse 200x), and tablet (iPad Pro 11)

• Take field notes and complete data collection for fiber optic internet design using existing power infrastructure

• Document field data and measure existing utilities and communications attached to power company poles

• Utilize ESRI Collector to document and compile collected field data

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in a variety of locations across southern Ohio

Work Environment

100% in the field - walking in rough terrain, up and down hills for 10 hours a day, carrying a tripod, iPad, and laser/GPS equipment. Working alone all day but within a few miles of other employees. Locations include St. Clairsville, Lancaster, and Hillsboro for extended periods. Overnight travel required on some days. Work hours are Monday to Friday, typically sun up to sun down, with a minimum of 40 hours per week not to exceed 70. In heavy weather, work may be paused or delayed. PPE provided includes a high visibility vest; hard hat is optional. Good walking boots are required but not provided.
