Description
Be part of an enterprise level, network team operation. The Data Center Technician will support network operations within a commercial data center setting to maintain physical and virtual infrastructure. You will be tasked with maintaining the hardware infrastructure of the latest cloud computing server technologies. This position requires the ability to successfully operate in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations while handling multiple critical priorities simultaneously. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate effective examples of situations where personal initiative and judgment were used to benefit team objectives.
The position will provide simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions in the scaling support of several data center locations and be responsible for day to day assistance with capacity management. The Data Center Technician will work closely with both internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Technical Program Managers.
Duties
Quickly and accurately resolve issues with server and network hardware through root cause analysis.
Understand computers, servers, network devices and command line diagnostics.
Prepare stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches).
Follow specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails.
Set up equipment properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs).
Perform post-execution quality checks and verify grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.
Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures.
Quickly identify the cause(s) of issues, and replace faulty components.
Decommission hardware for simple changes and refresh (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
Follow procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician Leads.
Maintain TCP/IP networking and infrastructure technologies.
Work with network cabling and standard optic types.
Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflow.
Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low-level application interaction.
Additional
Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Required: Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.
Required: Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Required: Flexibility to work non-standard business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays.
Previous datacenter experience a plus.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.63 - $22.63
