RMC is hiring for Network Administrator to support our customer at Hill AFB in Ogden, Utah. The Network Administrator will assist the customer with maintaining reliable, secure and efficient data communications networks by deploying, configuring, maintaining and monitoring all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation.

Some of the tasks the contractor will be required to perform are, but not limited to:

  • Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade networks and in-house servers.

  • Monitor and implement needed network hardware and software updates.

  • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, good put, and latency) testing for weaknesses and implementing improvement for network performance.

  • Collaborate with onsite users and alternate locations to ensure network connectivity and security; Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords.

  • Research and make recommendations on server system administration.

  • Monitor network and system health by utilizing tools such as Solar Winds and SCCM

  • Work with DISA to ensure data links are working and transmitting data to outside partners.

  • Configure and deploy network builds for current and new locations. This includes configuring servers, routers, switches, and other hardware to meet the objectives set out by the customer.

  • Work with vendors as needed to troubleshoot, upgrade, and replace server or network hardware; Support and administer third-party applications.

  • Utilize vCenter to troubleshoot, upgrade, and monitor virtual servers and work stations.

  • Create and maintain user and technical documentation.

  • Work alongside government technical team to ensure NIPR and SIPR are updated and working efficiently for users.

  • Provide resolutions for tickets submitted using SharePoint and coach end users on ticket submission.

    Requirements:

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Systems Administration, Software Engineering, or related field.

  • Must be able to obtain a Security+ certificate or equivalent within 3 months of hire.

  • Must be able to obtain a Cisco CCNA, Network+ or equivalent certification within 3 months of hire.

  • Security Clearance: An active DoD Secret clearance is required. Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

    The applicant must demonstrate 3-5 years previous job experience and demonstrate competency in the following areas:

  • Proven experience in a network administrator role.

  • Hands on experience in networking, routing and switching.

  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure.

  • Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and multitask.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2008, 2012 and VMWare.

  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.

  • Proven experience in a network administrator role.

  • Ability to gather data, create, compose, and edit written materials and reports; Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.

  • Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies.

  • Ability to set up and configure server hardware.
