SAIC Civil Engineer Principal in HILL AFB, Utah
Description
SAIC is seeking an exceptional individual to support the Air Force's next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system acquisition. Our customer is the Sentinel Program Office located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. This will be a long-term project with the weapon system anticipated to remain operational until 2075. We are seeking an experienced engineer to serve as the military construction (MILCON) technical lead and principal advisor with a willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity to work on one of the most exciting and challenging development and acquisition efforts in the DoD. This position requires the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks. The Engineer will liaison with key stakeholders to plan, program, design, and construct Sentinel projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a construction technical lead
Coordinate interfaces and integration requirements of the Weapon System and facility design with key stakeholders through effective collaboration
Support technical reviews of critical documents and designs
Directly support requirements development, planning, programming, design, and construction activities for Sentinel Facilities
Qualifications
Required Skills and Education
BS Engineering degree
At least 10 years (8 years with MS degree) of progressive experience in engineering and requirements development, analysis, and verification
Strong background in interpreting, evaluating and enforcing the Unified Facility Codes
Able to analyze maps, blueprints, and drawings concerning terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project
Preferred Skills and Education
Receive assignments in the form of objectives and establish goals to meet objectives
Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations
Inspect construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering specifications
Possess experience working with: Builder, TRIRIGA, ACES, etc., and developing and documenting technical facility requirements on a DD Form 1391
