Position Purpose:

The Cinematographer is responsible for the execution and production demands of lifestyle and product videos at The Home Depot's Photography/Videography Studio. The ideal candidate will be a creative visual storyteller and technician with a keen eye for detail and a passion for crafting engaging content. This position works closely with Producers, Interior Design & Art Direction teams, Grip & Electric, and Post-Production to develop assets utilized in marketing and across digital channels. The cinematographer role is expected to demonstrate innovative problem-solving solutions, agility, inspired leadership, expertise in video lighting, cameras, and equipment, effective communication skills, and the ability to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget. The position requires an aptitude to perform at a high level independently and with a team, both in studio and on location.

Key Responsibilities:

• 40% - Communication - Partner with stakeholders to communicate project objectives. Daily studio and project communication to keep projects on track.

• 60% - Strategic Production Management - Leads the strategic task of understanding the clients' needs and wants, what the team can produce, and what works for the production team wholistically. Expected to demonstrate thought leadership and creative problem-solving to meet production objectives. Uses experience and knowledge of production process and guides team members.

Travel Requirements:

• Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

• Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).

Working Conditions:

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional, commercial cinematography experience highly preferred

• Lifestyle, Editorial, and Product cinematography experience in a studio environment and on location, utilizing lighting and camera techniques to achieve a variety of looks

• Experience rigging cameras, setting up grip and electric equipment, and working with camera support

• Experience with digital camera systems such as RED, ARRI, Blackmagic, Canon, Sony

• Experience with post-production workflows including editing and color grading

• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, agile environment

• Strong attention to detail and a passion for video production

• A professional reel that demonstrates a working knowledge of cinematography, including lighting, composition, color quality, and strong aesthetics

• The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
