Product Information Specialist
Job Summary: The Systems Depot is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Product Information Specialist to join our team in Hickory, NC. In this critical role, you will manage and maintain product data integrity ,collaborate with vendors to acquire accurate information , develop our cutting-edge A1-powered knowledge management tool to support our sales teams and enhance client experiences. Responsibilities:
Product Information Management
- Collaborate with vendors to acquire and maintain accurate product specifications, pricing, images, and datasheets.
- Populate and manage item details, ensuring consistency in products names, descriptions, and specifications within internal systems.
- Regularly update product data to reflect the latest vendor and market changes.
AI Knowledge Management Tool Development:
- Lead the growth and optimization of our internal AI-driven knowledge management system to support Account Managers and clients.
- Integrate vendor-provided materials and internal resources into the AI platform to deliver real-time, actionable insights.
- Test and refine AI tool functionality, ensuring its effectiveness in addressing queries and improving client experiences.
Pricing and Database Oversight:
- Maintain a tiered pricing structure for products and promptly respond to pricing requests from Sales.
- Enter and update new items in the database with focus in accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure item group assignments and preferences are accurate and optimized for internal and external use.
Market and Vendor Collaboration:
- Partner with vendors and manufactures to stay informed on product updates and replacements.
- Drive initiatives to introduce new product lines and ensure they are effectively incorporated into our inventory.
Team Support and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Provides insights and recommendations to Product Management, Sales, and Marketing teams.
- Assist colleagues in achieving department and company goals by offering product expertise and solutions.
- Respond to internal and external inquires with professionalism and efficiency.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite ( Excel, Outlook, Word, Access).
- Experience working with ERP and CRM systems: knowledge of Acumatica is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Strong organizational and communication skills , both written and verbal.
- Basic knowledge of low-voltage electrical devices and related markets.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and distill actionable insights.
Performance Metrics
- Accuracy: Ensure precise entry and maintenance of product and pricing data.
- Timeliness: Meet deadlines for product updates, pricing requests, and AI tool improvements.
- Impact: Measure the adoption and effectiveness of the AI knowledge management system.
