L & M Radiator Inc Tube Machine Operators (Light Labor) in Hibbing, Minnesota

Who will you be working with? L&M Radiator, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and distributor of MESABI cooling and heat transfer solutions that are custom-made for heavy equipment in the mining, oil, gas, construction and heavy industrial industries. We are looking for an individual to join our Tubing team. As a Tube Machine Operator, you will work directly with other tubers and tubing supervisors on a daily basis to ensure production goals are met. This position works directly with other tubers, the tubing supervisors, Assembly, Research & Development, and the Production Manager when necessary. How will you make a difference? As a member of the Tubing team, you will be responsible for manufacturing, producing, assembling, and inspecting tubes on the solder line. You will also be responsible for filling out and maintaining appropriate forms to support production. This role is unique as it is part of what makes our product unique and stand out in the Heat Transfer market. In this role, you may observe, guide, and assist with training. We are looking for individuals of all skill levels. We will train you! This position reports directly to the Tubing Supervisor and rotates shifts every other week on days and afternoons. Day shift operates Monday through Friday 6:00am - 2:00pm. Afternoon operates Monday through Friday 2:00pm - 10:00pm. OT is possible depending on production needs. What do we want to know about you? 18 years or older. High school diploma or GED with 1 year of work experience. What will your typical day look like? Set-up and operate the tube machine to produce a completed tube. Assemble tube with gilling and place in the strip solder machine. Inspect and remove parts from solder lines and listen for loose gilling. Perform light maintenance on the machines. Assist in training others on the tube machine. Follow all appropriate work instructions. Set-up and operate RTTS and aluminum tube machine. Assist in other areas of production as needed and qualified. Perform work in a safe manner and follow all safety guidelines and procedures. Domestic and international travel possible travel depending on the project. Perform related work and other duties as required by supervisor. What about the physical demands of the job? Wear correct PPE earplugs, protective eye wear, steel-toed boots, and work provided uniform (gloves when necessary). Lift a minimum of 50lbs. Stand on concrete for 8-10 hours. Work in high heat conditions. Practice and maintain safe work conditions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required for Entry Level: Regular and reliable attendance. Basic math skills required, ability to learn how to use calipers, tape measure, and micrometers essential. General computer skills are needed for looking up specs, job orders and clocking in. Understand how mechanical components work and fit together. Ability to communicate, in English, effectively and clearly by both written and verbal means. Willingness to learn new tasks. Manual dexterity based on past experiences. Ability to pass a pre-employment written math test, physical, drug and background test. Preferred Qualifications: 1 year of experience in manufacturing or similar field. Knowledge of Epicor or similar ERP system. Experience in Lean Manufacturing. You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus.
