Fairview Health Services Sleep Technician in Hibbing, Minnesota

Fairview Range is hiring a Sleep Technician to join our Sleep Lab team in Hibbing, MN.

As a Sleep Technician, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders in patients. Working under the supervision of the medical director (MD, PhD, DO) or designee, you will be responsible for conducting various sleep studies, monitoring patients during sleep, and analyzing data to assist in the diagnosis and treatment planning. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to improving the quality of life for individuals suffering from sleep-related issues.

Schedule: This position will work 72-80 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8-hours on rotating Day, Evening, and Night shifts. Weekends: As needed.

As a Sleep Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Gathering and analyzing patient information and history.

  • Explaining pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to the patient.

  • Preparing and calibrating equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and making adjustemnts if necessary.

  • Performing routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask desensitization procesure, as necessary.

  • Continuously monitoring patients' sleep patterns, vital signs, and responses to interventions during the sleep study, making real-time adjustments as necessary.

  • Acurately recording and documenting data following procedural protocols.

  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment.

  • Scoring polysomnographic records.

  • Performing post-test follow up.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Current BLS or obtains within 3 months of hire and maintains.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of polysomnography training program or Associate's Degree in health sciences field with emphasis on polysomnography.

  • Prior experience as a Sleep Technician or in a related healthcare role.

  • RSGT + CRT or RRT; or REEGT

  • CPSGT
