Instructions on how to do so will be provided in your offer letter. * Job Title:* Scientist-Quality & Regulatory Compliance–Analytical * Job Location: Hershey, PA* * Major Duties/Responsibilities:* PROJECT LEADERSHIP, TROUBLESHOOTING, AND MANUFACTURING ANALYTICAL SUPPORT – Based on role, experience and project need project support may be carried out in analytical laboratory, manufacturing facility or both. Under general supervision, assume responsibility for laboratory / benchtop projects or projects supporting recommendation and implementation of analytical instrumentation at manufacturing facilities. Provide technical support to instrumentation / testing project. Projects are of significant importance, scope and complexity involving ingredients, in process materials, finished goods and defining product attributes. Serve as a resource for testing, equipment validation, method calibration. Ensure methods are fit for purpose and accuracy of resulting data. May assist senior scientist on more complex projects. With light assistance, solve problems through application of knowledge, experience, and original thinking. Serve as technical resource to troubleshoot equipment and method concerns. Provide leadership and instruction to technicians when they are assigned to assist on a project. Review results with others and suggest the advisability of further tests and/or changes deemed necessary. Prepare all project reports as required. Make presentation of significant conclusions when pertinent. ROUTINE TESTING / RESULT REPORTING / DATA MANAGEMENT - Under light supervision, monitor ingredient, in-process or finished product quality through analytical testing. Perform simple to moderately complex wet chemistry techniques (sample preparation, extraction and analysis). Perform moderately complex chemical analyses using analytical equipment. Operate, maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation. Prepare standards and controls. Record, compute and evaluate data as well as input data into LIMS. Prepare tables and graphs of data as appropriate. Maintain Workstation Manuals. LABORATORY METHOD DEVELOPMENT/EQUIPMENT SET-UP - Make recommendations for method development, or enhancement, designed to provide new analyses, produce more accurate data, or achieve cost savings. Also recommend and coordinate equipment purchases and upgrades. * Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:* * Superior working knowledge and comfort in analytical test methods and Good Laboratory Practices. * Demonstrated experience using analytical instrumentation including, chromatography systems. * A well-rounded working technical knowledge of chemistry and related sciences * Attention to detail, especially with respect to laboratory techniques * Ability to multi-task, prioritize, organize, track and plan. * Superior communication skills in verbal and written form. * Proficiency in computer programs / software such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and LIMS * Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and independently in a flexible work environment with changing priorities and deadlines. * Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:* * Education:* * B.S.
