Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Retail Store Senior Supervisor in Hershey, Pennsylvania

This position is responsible to assist the Retail Area Manager in the overall day to day operations at Hersheypark Supply Company or Sweeterie. Primary responsibilities include: selling merchandise to guests, planning and implementing display changes, meeting or exceeding sales plan, assisting in the training of new staff, and managing personnel functions.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Lead and direct team of part-time staff during shift; plan and assign daily sales goals, tasks, and assignments; train and motivate staff.*

  • Manage inventory levels by completing daily stocking; placing orders from the Retail Warehouse, checking orders, inventory transfers, inventory mark-outs, and other inventory management tasks as needed to maintain inventory integrity.*

  • Monitor daily revenue to ensure store is meeting financial objectives. Assist in the creation of sales promotions or other programs to attract customers and boost sales.*

  • Follow all cash handling standard operating procedures.*

  • Monitor sales performance and regularly communicate with Area Manager regarding reorders and top selling items.*

  • Maintain store layout; assist with the creation and implementation of floor changes.

  • Monitor employee hours and schedules and adjust as needed to remain in compliance with child labor laws and ensure that team members are preventing violations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 years of related experience.

  • Industry Experience - Retail

  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.

  • 18 years of age or older.

  • Completion of high school or GED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.

  • Proficient working with details on a daily basis for prolonged periods of time.

Job Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Climbing Ladders Occasional (67%)

  • Walking Frequent (34-66%)

  • This job requires a good sense of vision (either corrected or uncorrected). Visual ability to operate moving equipment such as a car, truck, golf carts, etc.

  • This job regularly requires verbal communication of detailed information to others either by phone or in person.

  • Must be able to speak and read the English language.
