JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State College of Medicine, Continuing Education Department, in Hershey, PA is seeking a Director. This position provides overall management and direction for a broad portfolio of educational initiatives related to continuing medical education; provides strategic leadership in the areas of innovation, community partnerships, development opportunities, finance, marketing, compliance with ACCME accreditation policies, internal collaborations, and operational management.
Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Office of Continuing Education, a unit that delivers a portfolio of activities for local, regional, national and international learners that impact physician behaviors and patient outcomes.
Oversee and mentor a team of staff; direct workflows and assignments; manage hiring, performance evaluation, and training functions; and provide development opportunities
Develop and manage budgets to achieve income and revenue goals of the Office which is self supported
Evaluate, develop, recommend, implement, and administer policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and policies of the ACCME, a national accrediting body
Develop key performance indicators and metrics; direct assessment strategies and market research; make data informed recommendations to advance program growth
Develop and direct innovation-related strategies and projects in the unit including significant new program opportunities involving technology, cross-unit collaborations, or major initiatives
Develop business relationships with key community stakeholders; collaborate with academic leadership, regional, and University-wide units to implement programs
Work strategically and collaboratively to develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy, including market research, environmental scanning, pricing strategies for activities and services
Raise or oversee revenues through exhibits and sponsorships, fee-for-service or grants; registration fees, joint provider opportunities
Serve as a leader in the national/regional CME professional field and do ongoing benchmarking with peers for best practices and service to the profession
Write the ACCME reaccreditation self study, performance in practice abstracts and commendation criteria reports; participate in reaccreditation interview
This position requires a Master's Degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree
Expertise in ACCME accreditation
ACCME surveyor experience

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$86,300.00 - $129,500.00
