DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Cook 1, you prepare menu items such as soups, stews, gravies, casseroles, entrees, vegetables, and desserts as directed. You transfer food product containers such as heavy cases and large cans from the storage area, freezer, and walk-in refrigerators to the preparation areas. You also place food items into and out of ovens.

Additional duties include serving prepared menu items, either through a service line or individually waiting on tables when necessary. While standing and participating in the food serving line, you ensure plates, bowls, trays, and pans are relocated accordingly to maintain adequate supplies for serving. You also carry trays and hot plates with meals to the dining area when serving special guests or dignitaries at the academy.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are rotating shifts, including weekends. Start and end times vary and your shift comes with a 30-mintue lunch. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,812.00 (before taxes).
