JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Public Health Sciences, in Hershey, PA is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator.

In 2023, the Penn State Center for Research on Tobacco and Health was awarded one of seven NIH and FDA funded Tobacco Center of Regulatory Science (TCORS) grants to better understand how physical design and chemical constituents affect the toxicity and addictiveness of nicotine and tobacco products. We are seeking a clinical research coordinator to assist with several ongoing clinical trials within this grant.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • managing the randomization and blinding process for a clinical trial investigating the effects of nicotine pouches on tobacco use behaviors and biomarkers of toxicant exposure.

  • Coordinating a clinical trial evaluating the health effects of little cigars and electronic cigarettes. Project coordination responsibilities will include IRB submissions, database development, recruitment, data collection, and interaction with participants.

  • assist with data analysis, with the opportunity to assist with manuscript and grant writing.

This position will require in-person work at the College of Medicine (Monday-Friday). Evening hours may be required occasionally.

A Bachelor’s degree is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

A Bachelor's Degree with at least one year of experience is preferred as well as familiarity with REDCap, Microsoft Office and TEAMS, and database management are preferred. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and excellent communication skills are essential for frequent interaction with research participants and staff at multiple locations.

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
