Linquest Corporation Space Enterprise DE Transformation Systems Engineer in Herndon, Virginia

Position Summary:

This effort is in direct support of a US Space Industry Prime Partner in the Chantilly, VA area. A Systems Engineer with understanding of model-based systems engineering concepts and advising customers in planning procedure development is paramount to success in this position.

This role reports to the LQ Program Manager and is fully empowered to execute critical facets of the contract - including but not limited to; planning process development in response to Customer’s and Stakeholders’ needs; develop and monitor direct and indirect DE Transformation performance results and metrics; and maintain vigilance to drive DE Transformation gap closures – as appropriate, early, and timely.

This position will also provide hands-on guidance within and across LQ Program Systems Engineering (SE) Integrated Teams to deliver on-target success of both top-down DE Culture Transformation objectives and hands-on DE taskings. Domain knowledge and executional focus areas include: Space and Ground SE and Lifecycle Management fundamentals; DE/DEE including MBSE foundational principles including processes and standards; [space and ground] mission-, systems-, and lifecycle development phase-tailored applications, tools, techniques of DE/MBSE to deliver and maximize Enterprise-wide efficiency, interconnectivity, and re-use within DEE-centric mission architecture, design data, and organizational knowledge management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist stakeholders in planning process development relevant to the digital transformation and digital engineering, (MBSE) efforts.

  • Develop MBSE-based processes to support corporate systems engineering needs. Background in processes related to development of requirements, CONOPS and architecture is desirable.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with directorates and offices across the NRO to transform space and intelligence enterprise to digital engineering practices and approaches.

  • Provides technical advice and guidance to senior managers regarding the creation and implementation of new MBSE methods and techniques.

  • Assess engineering artifacts and develop models of systems and processes using a MBSE tools.

  • Participate in collaborative meetings between the MBSE users and the tool development team to communicate modeling needs and help innovate potential solutions.

  • Define and demonstrate data standards and technologies required to manage the data needs and coordinate with teams supporting enterprise MBSE tool maintenance and integration to ensure solutions meet the needs of new modeling standards.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 10+ years of relevant experience.

  • Background in, and an understanding of digital engineering related planning procedure development, (Westfield’s Customer specific experience highly desired), experience in the development of requirements, CONOPS, architectures, and other systems engineering artifacts.

  • Experience in designing, developing, and delivering organizational change management strategies and solutions for digital engineering transformation initiatives.

  • The candidate should have demonstrated experience with SysML, UML or industry standard modelling languages. Experience with UAFP is desired.

  • Experience with leading actionable and targeted digital engineering transformation plans (e.g., communications, training, sponsor roadmap, coaching, resistance management)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Able to collaborate closely with teammates and stakeholders.

  • The ability to work in a secure, confined location (i.e., SCIF).

  • An active TS/SCI with CI Poly is required to be considered for this position.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience within the intelligence community and the Westfield’s Customer .
