Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) Production Support Supervisor (Direct Hiring Authority) in Herlong Sierra Ordnance Depot, California

About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Employees work a 4/10 work week, Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and daily childcare available. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center, (Mass transportation is available at minimal cost.) Responsibilities Plans and schedules work assignments. Explains work requirements, methods and procedures. Review work progress for efficiency and economical accomplishments. Responsible for assuring rules and regulations on housekeep and safety are followed. Counsels' employees on minor problems concerning work and taking corrective action to resolve the issues or concerns. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Production Support Supervisor (Direct Hiring Authority) without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform the common Industrial Equipment Mechanic Supervisor duties including 1.) Explaining the proper materials, equipment, or parts that are required for repairs; 2.) Interpreting guides such as blueprints, sketches, and technical manuals to perform maintenance or repairs; 3.) Providing quality control review of performed repairs for industrial equipment; and 4.) Troubleshooting to diagnose malfunctions. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSCIAL EFFORT: Works in tiring or uncomfortable positions for long periods. The work requires frequent standing, bending, crouching, kneeling, and climbing. May work on ladder, scaffolds or platforms and where the parts of systems worked on are in hard-to-reach places. Frequently lift and carry tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally items weighing more with assistance of material lifting devices or other workers. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside buildings and shops and outside with exposure to wide variations in weather and temperature. Incumbent is exposed to potential injury from power tools and danger from flying objects, cuts, and scrapes, is expose to traffic hazards while driving on both improved and unimproved road surfaces. May occasionally make repairs when noxious fumes are present. There is exposure to insect, spider, and snakebites. Education Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
