We are currently hiring a Peer Advocate, to work in our Herkimer County office. As the Peer Advocate, you would be responsible for:

  • Obtain and retain knowledge of alcohol and substance abuse, trauma informed care, family systems and recovery community.

  • Engage and empower individuals to obtain and maintain sobriety

  • Provide substance abuse intervention services utilizing evidence-based practices and programs.

  • Arrange schedule and conduct peer support recovery meetings/groups.

  • Help individuals develop, maintain and self-monitor Recovery Plans.

Peer Advocate Minimum Salary: $15.93

Peer Advocate Maximum Salary: $16.51

Peer Advocate Schedule: Monday-Friday, hours range from 9:00am-7:30pm

Qualifications:

  • 2 year/ Associate Degree List field of study: Human Services or similar

  • 3-5 years of related experience

  • Communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Advocacy skills
