Introduction

We're seeking a database administrator to manage our Db2 Linux, Unix and Windows platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in database administration, including performance optimization, monitoring, and maintenance. This role operates within a DevOps framework, collaborating with infrastructure and development teams to deliver solutions and support day-today operations. They will also frequently contribute to the development of new theories and methods to resolve applications support issues.

Your role and responsibilities

Manage and administer Db2 LUW on AIX and CLOUD systems execute daily monitoring and maintenance protocols process database-related change requests across teams. Implement Db2 LUW upgrades, version migrations, optimizations, deliver technical training and consultation to different SRE/support staff. This will include troubleshooting, automations using scripting, offering resolutions, or resolving technical errors and issues arising from the use of the systems and applications. Providing on-call support rotation.

Required technical and professional expertise

• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and willingness to learn anything new.

• Strong knowledge of the DB2 databases and system environments.

• Taking ownership of the product and working independently, finding areas to improve efficiency.

• Fluent English.

Preferred technical and professional experience

• Performance tuning.

• Strong understanding of database design principles.

• Unix shell scripting proficiency.

• Ansible/Python scripting.

• Cloud computing knowledge.
