Eaton Corporation Electrical Engineer - NGX in Hengelo, Netherlands

Role overview:

In this role, you will draw electrical schematics based on guidance from application engineering, product knowledge, customer specifications, necessary safety precautions, design guidelines, international and Eaton standards as part of the engineering to order process.

You will also prepare the technical specifications for the purchase of electrical components, takes care of a complete and accurate list, and you will create wiring diagrams to be used in production for the assembly, based on schematics, components list, mechanical construction and positioning of components. You will document all activities, data and information in line with procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate technological developments and working methods with regard to Electrical Engineering, advise about possible improvements and, after approval of management, implement them

  • Execute several projects at the same time in order to deliver on time; ensure quality by actively organizing and doing peer reviews. You need to be budget aware and able to estimate hours, stay within the agreed budget and look for possibilities to beat the budget

  • Actively analyze and investigate issues occurring or opportunities to improve work quality, on time performance, efficiency in execution by means of improvements in processes, tooling, drawing methods/guidelines in close cooperation with application engineering and management.

  • Act as Pro-active in self-learning of new methods, product knowledge or tooling

  • Work on standardizing schematics and supports engineering in new product development or VAVE (Value Added/Value Engineering) projects

  • Guide other electrical engineers of other Eaton facilities to guide them in preparing electrical schematics or wiring diagrams for orders

  • Be a team member for order projects: proactively communicates with all stakeholders involved (application engineering, electrical engineering colleagues, order management, planning, mechanical engineering, work preparation, supply chain and assembly) on both technical matters and process, planning related matters. Pro-actively communicate feasibility and progress of work within the required quality, timing and budget deadlines

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Electrical Engineering or equivalent based on experience

  • A minimum of 2 years’ of experience in designing schematics of Electrical type of industrial equipment

  • Experience in Low and Medium Voltage systems and technology

  • Experience of International standards on IEC systems and EHS

  • Elcad, EB, Eplan, or other schematic tooling applications expertise

  • Knowledge of Procedures, company rules, guidelines (national and international), law, rules & regulations, standards, safety, quality and environmental guidelines as far as applicable

  • Self-starter, drives improvement, in coordination with the Team Leader

  • Quick learner, able to adopt new systems and tools quickly

  • Dutch (verbal/written), English (verbal/written) and German (verbal) language is a plus
