The role you’ll contribute: Responsible for direction of patient care in the AdventHealth Hendersonville (HVL) Outpatient Surgery Center. Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services, manages staff members in the Operating Room and Preop/PACU. Consult with Director, Surgical Services Leadership, Physicians, staff and VP Clinical Services/CNO on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Maintain performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Responsible for working with the Director of Surgical Services on formulating budgets in all reporting departments. Works closely with the clinical educators to ensure all possible opportunities for staff education are met. Works closely with leaders in Sterile Processing, Environmental Services and Supply Chain to ensure cleanliness of environment, equipment and instruments used on surgical patients.

· Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff, Director of Surgical Services, other leaders and administrative team.

· Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients' needs are met and hospital policy is followed.

· Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.

· Consults other departments and disciplines to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.

· Maintains performance improvement activities and data tracking for departments.

· Ensures that documentation meets current standards and policies.

· Provides guidance for staff education on performance improvement. Ability to plan and organize orientation and in-service training for unit staff members, participates in guidance and educational programs.

· Works with Human Resource and Employee Relations on activities such as interviewing, hiring, counseling and firing.

· Identifies problems and demonstrates ability to problem solve.

· Results will highlight outcomes and up-to-date plan on how to achieve those outcomes.

· Must understand and demonstrate mission, values and goals of organization.

· Results will be indicated by compliance with corporate measures, and progress ensured with core measures and regulatory readiness of responsible operations.

· Is mindful of relationships with providers as a means to increase business volume.

· Is passionate about providing “Whole Person Care” by living by the service standards of AdventHealth.

· Demonstrates ownership of the revenue line and the expense line. Understanding the marketplace, industry trends and customer preferences and an ongoing search to enrich the patient experience.

· Rounds in areas of responsibility and making changes as a result.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

· Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related field (if not yet obtained, employee must be enrolled within 1 year of hire date and completed within 5 years of hire date).

· Graduate from accredited school of nursing

· Five or more years of experience in surgical services to include experience in both Operating Room as well as Preop or PACU.
