Aerotek Instrumentation And Controls Technician in Henderson, Nevada

Description:

The Instrumentation and Controls Technician is responsible for performing all duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems, equipment, and fixtures under the supervision of the Plant Manager

Must have skills:

Mechanic, repair, pumps, welding, repair, replacement, electrical, pipe, fitting, repair, logs, instrumentation, instrumentation controls, mechanical electrical, wastewater experience, flexible to work schedules (emergency on-calls)

Skills & Qualifications:

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.

 Inspects and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical equipment and fixtures using test equipment, devices, non-intrusive technology and other industry related procedures.

 Inspects flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures and related controls on instrument panels, computer terminals and programmable logic control units and diagnoses basic operational problems.

 Takes corrective action per procedure in assigned area. Verifies and reports suspected malfunctions and variances to supervisor.

 Performs routine and preventative maintenance, lubrication and minor adjustments on machines and related equipment which may include pumps, engines, centrifuges, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed and odor control, disinfection equipment, vacuum filters and belt presses. Promptly reports any operational problems with machines or equipment to Lead or Supervisor.

 Performs preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on WWTP systems and equipment.

 Performs instrumentation and control-related activities specified by work order; and installs new or replacement instrumentation and control systems, equipment, and support systems.

 Calibrates instrumentation using various meters and devices complemented with necessary mathematical calculations to assure system accuracy.

 Reports and documents result of inspections and work performed

 Performs other maintenance tasks as needed;

 Contributes to evolution of mechanical / electrical / instrumentation maintenance tasks within a CMMS application.

 Assures work is performed in a safe and professional manner in accordance with relevant building and electrical codes.

 Performs cleanup and housekeeping tasks for work area, tools and equipment.

 Inspects, maintains, repairs and installs mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic equipment at plant and/or pump stations.
