The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
As a Sr. Architect, you will help lead the effort to create the "north star" technology architecture for the Data & Analytics Unit in Business Insurance of a global, Dow 30 company.
As a direct report to the Head of Information Architecture, Business Insurance you will interface directly with senior technology leaders to transform our current business and technology capabilities and pave the way for best-in-class solutions. You will be a dedicated partner to senior Technology and Business leaders as you define a target state, roadmaps and identify new and emerging technologies that will transform and optimize the business. As an organizational leader, you will humbly serve and inspire a team of high-performing Architects who you will coach, mentor, and empower. As a successful candidate, you are a visionary leader with a track record of building high-quality enterprise solutions. You are results-driven and bring strong Architecture and engineering skills and a deep understanding of modern technologies including Cloud-native, APIs, AI, and ML. You are a person of high integrity, who believes in challenging the status quo when needed, while always first seeking to understand. You will work within a community of architecture leaders, charged with establishing and evolving a unified architecture vision.
What Will You Do?
Expertise - Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Business Architects, Line of business engineers and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Athena, Glue, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB NoSQL, Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon EMR and Snowflake.
Solutions - Deliver on technical engagements with partners and customers. This includes understanding customer requirements, creating packaged Data & Analytics service offerings.
Delivery – Engagements proving the use of AWS services to support new distributed computing solutions that often span private cloud and public cloud services. Engagements will include migration of existing datasets and development of new applications and datasets using AWS cloud services.
Insights - Work with delivery engineering and support teams to convey partner and customer needs and feedback as input to technology roadmaps. Share real world implementations and recommend new capabilities that would simplify adoption and drive greater value from use of cloud technologies.
Innovate - Engaging with the customer’s business and technology stakeholders to create a compelling vision of a data-driven enterprise for Business Insurance.
Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment
Hands on experience leading large-scale global data lake/warehousing and analytics projects
Ability to collaborate effectively across organizations
Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry including NoSQL databases, Data lake design, BI reporting and Dashboard development
Demonstrated industry efficiency in the fields of database, data warehousing or data sciences
Implementing AWS data services in a variety of distributed computing, enterprise environments
Customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
Desire and ability to interact with different levels of the organization from development to C-Level executives
Manage and Monitor the data quality of the content in the data architecture and platforms.
Balance tactical vs strategic trade-offs when making decisions or proposing solutions.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
Bachelor’s in technology related field or equivalent with 5+ years of technology Architecture experience
Provided mentorship to architects
4+ years of experience of Data Lake implementation
3+ years of experience in AWS cloud
2+ years of hands-on experience in implementation and performance tuning in Object Storage (AWS S3 or similar.)
Experience with one or more relevant tools (Kafka, AWS Kinesis services, AWS Glue, Data Brew, DeeQu, and Drools.)
Experience with no SQL and GraphQL technologies.
Organizational and transformational experience in an agile operating model
Establishes strategic technology direction and architecture vision for an organization
Strong proven Software Engineering experience
Developed technology target state, roadmaps that aligned to Short- and Long-term business goals
Proven track record of influencing senior leadership
Insurance technology experience
Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
If Cyber; CISSP, CISM, Security+, CISA or equivalent Cybersecurity certification preferred
Must be passionate about technology transformations
Has hands on experience in the last 3 years
Executed technology modernization initiatives including migration to cloud native and API Strategy
Current deep experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, DevSecOps
Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, GCP, or Azure) or strong architecture experience on Cloud
Good understanding of security
Experienced with large scale technology platforms
Experience modernizing data technology and information architecture on cloud
Exposure and understanding of advanced analytics techniques using ML and AI
Hands on experience with data technologies on cloud
What is a Must Have?
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in work experience.
Six years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture within a line of business or enterprise area
