State of Montana Field Services & Technology Section Supervisor in Helena, Montana

We are looking for a Section Supervisor to join our Field Services and Technology Section in the Mining Bureau. The Field Services and TechnologySection is one of four sections within the Mining Bureau.  Among other tasks, the Field Services and Technology SectionSupervisor is responsible for: ● Implementing the Metal Mine Reclamation Act. ● Implementing the Opencut Mining Act. ● Implementing the Montana Strip and Underground Mine Reclamation Act. ● Implementing the Montana Environmental Policy Act. ● Establishing and advancing Mining Bureau consistency/efficiency; ● Leading and managing staff; and ● Advancing collaboration among the four Mining Bureau Sections and other programs within the agency. The Field Services and Technology Section Supervisor must lead by example, creating a culture of excellence, professionalism, and collaboration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate knowledge of state and regulatory framework associated with mining, as well as skilled communication and effective leadership. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in geology, geomorphology, environmental science, life science, physical science, reclamation, mining or environmental engineering, or a related degree in natural resources and three (3) or more years of progressively responsible experience in a natural resource field. Demonstrated experience in successfully leading people is required, although this may be from roles other than formal supervisory experience.  Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
