Purpose of the Position
Role as a measurement gauge engineer leading or participate a project to achieve project goal and schedule.
Seeking a highly capable in measurement Engineer for advancing our glass manufacturing performance and Measurement Capability.
Candidate must have a strong foundation in Physics Science, Engineering or Software programming.
This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with globally distributed researchers, engineers in our commercial organizations, and customers.
The capability of independently travel including domestic and international would be must.
Day to Day Responsibilities
Role as measurement gauge engineer on support expansion, rebuild and technology migration.
Responsible for system design review, SOW discussion with supplier, follow up the gauge quote, order, ship and installation to support project goal.
In charge of new technology migration including Stage 2 Stage 4 upon project assignment.
Communication closely with process receiver to deliver the system capability as designed
Facilitate Plant Site receiver on gauge training and operation performance improvement
Lead Level 3 manufacturing support activities to immediate solution for production and permanent solutions for improvement and process optimization.
Coordinating a crossing function group including, design, development, process receiver and plant receivers for a technology implementation.
Regular mail and meeting update to stakeholder, project leader, team members and receivers
Frequent international/domestic travel is expected, the locations could include but not limited Korea, Japan, China and USA. Expected travel time is about 40%, and could be higher than 70% upon the project assignment
Education & Experience
Master or bachelor’s degree in physics science or in Optical/ Mechanical/ Control or relevant Engineering degree
At least 2 years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing or R&D environment
Proven track record of solving a variety of difficult technology problems
A plus with proven ability of technical project management
High level of expertise in Mechanical design, system integration
Full proficiency in hardware design, software design, and various engineering skill on measurements.
Experience in data analysis
Problem solving skills demonstrated through troubleshooting on electrical related and process related issues
Effective leadership, organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle ambiguity, changing priorities and changing requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to travel independently and work with time zones among regions
Well-developed skills in working across multiple cultures and on a globally dispersed and diverse team
Ability to influence technical direction via communication and relationship from a remote location
Strong technology knowledge and ability to drive measurements capability improvement
High mobility and flexible on working locations.
Ability or experience on motion control would be plus.
Experience in C# or Labview
Ability to work independently and directly with project customers to define project scope, identify project requirements and deliverables and satisfy objectives/timelines with a minimal amount of supervision.
Cross-cultural Sensitivity, Ability to work in a diversity team-based environment and participate on a matrix project team, Team player, perform well as an individual subject matter expert contributor.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, planning and organizing, building cross functional relationship.
