Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician Level I is responsible for performing general maintenance of plants and buildings, as well as preventive maintenance and simple repairs on plant equipment. This role is crucial in managing equipment uptime through Preventive Maintenance Programs, diagnosing equipment failures, and managing repair part inventory and supplies. Knowledge of electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic machines is necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance and Repair
Diagnose and repair equipment failures
Manage and perform necessary Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs on equipment
Control repair parts expenditures
Make suggestions on the need for new equipment or repairs
Incorporate shop floor organization in the maintenance department
Building Maintenance
Perform carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs as needed
Troubleshoot and repair existing and potential problems
Replace light bulbs, covers, and filters as necessary
Maintain existing plant facilities (e.g., HVAC units, lights, restrooms, door security, roof)
Industrial and Plant Equipment Maintenance
Repair hydraulic equipment
Perform simple repairs on plant equipment
Conduct preventive maintenance for production equipment
Perform other related duties and assignments as required
Required Qualifications
Training in repair of Electrical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic equipment
Background in repair of HVAC, Electrical wiring, and general repair
Experience in repairing controllers on equipment
Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Email
Basic math skills
Ability to read schematics
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance role
Familiarity with various types of industrial equipment
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and regulations

Physical Requirements
Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
Reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Ability to communicate verbally
Work Environment
Indoor environment with moderate noise levels
Exposure to plant and manufacturing conditions
