What You'll Do:

Serta Simmons is seeking a Manufacturing Lead for our Hazleton, PA plant.

In this role, you will oversee production to ensure high-quality, safe products are delivered on time and within budget.

You will drive Lean methodologies to foster continuous improvement in performance, safety, and quality.

How You'll Do It:

Leads manufacturing to ensure:

  • Safe production of quality products.

  • Timely delivery.

  • Adherence to budget.

Drives Lean methodologies to:

  • Improve performance, safety, and quality continuously.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring operator and workplace safety.

  • Maintaining product quality through proper processes.

  • Collaborating with Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Key Process Owners to meet quality standards.

Delivers on:

  • On-time delivery (>99.5%).

  • Efficiency (>95%).

Achieves goals by:

  • Leading teams in problem-solving.

  • Coordinating with supply chain partners.

  • Holding daily production meetings to set daily expectations.

Coordinates with office staff to:

  • Provide delivery and product status updates.

  • Maintain and prepare daily and requested reports.

Ensures cost-effectiveness by:

  • Controlling raw material use to reduce waste.

  • Managing labor to prevent excess costs.

Implements Lean and quality processes and escalates unresolved issues to maintain standards.

Leads and motivates teams by:

  • Developing their skills and providing challenges.

  • Meeting training and development goals.

What You'll Bring:

  • Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Technical field (4-year degree candidates) with 3-5 years of leadership experience in a high-mix, complex manufacturing environment.

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering/Technical field (2-year degree candidates) with 5-15 years of leadership experience and clear career progression.

  • Extensive Manufacturing/Supervisory Experience (non-degreed candidates) with 15+ years of leadership experience.

  • Work Environment:

  • Active role with frequent walking in manufacturing plant, warehouse, and distribution areas.

  • High degree of risk management involving safety around large, complex machinery and heavy products (up to 200 lbs).

  • Travel:

  • Up to 10% travel required.
