Utility Marking Coordinator\ \ Prairie Engineers has a project specific opportunity with an expected duration between 3 to 9 months.
This is a semi-skilled field & office position for coordinating with and meeting on site with Missouri Digsafe utility\ marking crews in response to utility tickets entered for the Build I-70 MODOT project ST0016. Qualified candidate will\ use computerized software programs to enter, track and prioritize Digsafe utility tickets, research utility maps,\ document Missouri Digsafe utility marking crew performance; maintain a functional knowledge of the Missouri One Call\ law requirements for field marking and requesting utility locations; and has completed, or will agree to complete the\ following Missouri OneCall online training courses: One Call Law, Marking Standards, Ticket Types
Job Functions\ Close coordination with and directly observing Missouri DigSafe utility marking crews while they locate underground\ utilities including electric lines, communication cables, storm drain piping, water lines, petroleum lines, gas lines, and\ other buried utilities within or adjacent to the I-70 right of way. Understand various industry methods such as line of\ sight, electronic locate tools, map interpolation and distance measuring to provide judgement on the accuracy surface\ markings of located underground utilities.\ Function as Prairies field agent to the Missouri One Call System by tracking and prioritizing tickets issued for locate\ requests, directly observing field locating work performed by Missouri Digsafe utility marking crews.\ Schedule and conduct field site meetings with Missouri Digsafe utility marking crews, contractors, City departments\ and/or other Public Agencies to assist in clarifying location requested on tickets.\ Utilize GPS equipment & digital cameras to document marked utilities. Use computer software programs and work\ management systems to enter and record data for marked utilities.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: B.S. in Geography or related science field; or 5-10 years experience
Schedule: Able to work the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned
responsibilities and tasks. Must be available as needed (especially during regular
business hours or shifts) to communicate with subordinates, supervisors, and
any other persons or organization with whom interaction is required to
accomplish work and employer goals.
Work and Attendance: Must be punctual and timely in meeting all
requirements of performance, including but not limited to, attendance
standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time,
where applicable.
Technology: Familiarity with GPS equipment and digital cameras, ERSI GIS,
Google Earth, and Google Street Maps
Communication: Good verbal and written skills
