Robert Half Contracts Manager in Hayward, California

Description

Established biotech company based in the East Bay has an immediate opening for a Contracts Manager! This person will join a growing legal team and report to the General Counsel. As a Contracts Manager, you’ll assist with various in-house functions including contract review and negotiation, regulatory and compliance matters, and corporate governance. If you’re looking to join a stable, publicly traded company and grow your in-house career, this is the position for you! The ideal candidate must be able to work on-site 3x per week to Alameda County, CA. The ideal candidate will also have 7+ years of contracts administration, redlining and management experience, including significant contract negotiation experience. This is a contract position only.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough review and redline of complex contracts

  • Oversee the contract administrator to ensure timely and compliance contracting functions

  • Assist GC with corporate governance functions

  • Spearhead various regulatory and compliance projects

  • Oversee and manage all contracts within the organization, including service agreements, supply agreements, non-disclosure agreements, licensing agreements, lease agreements, and research agreements.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of complex legal documents ensuring compliance with all necessary laws and regulations.

  • Evaluate and advise on contractual risk and potential legal implications associated with contractual terms and conditions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior management and external entities on contractual matters.

  • Ensure the accurate tracking, storage and retrieval of signed contracts.

    Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Contracts Manager role or similar field.

• Proven track record in managing all aspects of contract creation, review, and implementation.

• Strong knowledge of contract law and regulations.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.

• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate contracts beneficial to the organization.

• Prior life sciences experiences is highly preferred but not required

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex contract terms and conditions.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, or related field is preferred.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to find effective solutions to contract-related issues.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to accurately prepare and review contracts.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
