BASIC PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative and clerical support to the Officers and staff of the Hayward Corps office. This position must be capable of multi-tasking and have an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accounts payable and receivable function through AP Workflow.

  • Process and input bi-weekly payroll.

  • Monitor supplies and notify supervisor to reorder as necessary.

  • Statistics and Gifts-in-Kind paperwork.

  • Learn how to and input TSAMM.

  • Human resources and volunteer resources paperwork.

  • Organize files and filing.

  • Type letters, memos, minutes, etc.

  • Answer phone calls and take messages.

  • Be prepared to back up Social Services work as needed.

  • Bellringing Kettle input.

  • Bellringing Kettle payroll.

  • Kettle and other deposits.

  • Other duties when needed and assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • College degree preferred.

  • Life experience in Administrative Assistant work.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

  • Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle

  • Must be 21 years or older.

  • Authorize The Salvation Army to add name to the CA DMV Pull Notice Program

  • Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.

  • Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects.

  • Ability to reach overhead.

  • Ability to operate telephone.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for administrative positions.

  • Ability to operate a computer.

  • Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information.

  • Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer.
